The Love of Three Oranges, Set Design
The Love of Three Oranges is styled after old fashion theater, commedia del arte. I wanted the set to look simple and represent the feeling of an Italian traveling Clown troope. The concept for the show was exploring and discovering yourself, new people, and new adventures. With those words I thought of how life presents us with up’s and down’s, so I wanted levels in my design. The two ramps were able to move in all directions and create levels for actors to walk up and down. For the set design and decorating, I wanted to give the set a Renaissance look, since the Renaissance was the Age of Exploration and Discovery. I was also inspired by stain glass windows in European castles, pristine forests, and the grandness that can be seen in simplicity
